Sometimes I use gesso. And I always sand them a little- on location, not before...yep I carry a little sander. A little smoother here, a little rougher there. The fun is in the surprise, but it can also be the frustration.<br />till later- loriannloriann signorihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16738796573576452724noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2569842595006112796.post-78524777080314601862010-06-17T00:35:46.080-04:002010-06-17T00:35:46.080-04:00So free!

Lovely and very interesting to read about the painting process of layering. I like the pink mud layer of the depths that is shining through.Caroline Simmillhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09598525698486576546noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2569842595006112796.post-8927511378628011192010-06-15T15:56:39.527-04:002010-06-15T15:56:39.527-04:00Hi Sam, Some artists like a really big box. Maybe there's hope for me yet if it's possible to let the pastels do most of the value work, after a colorful underpainting is done.Donna Thttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17129186863757507990noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2569842595006112796.post-37919402180886107822010-06-15T12:28:02.152-04:002010-06-15T12:28:02.152-04:00Love all the colors adding up to glassy water.
