Fog /painting in the works

big one, studio piece in the works, not for sale yet
I have been studying the master of light, Claude Monet. It is amazing to see how many colors he used to create visual blending into a different much richer color. I am trying to learn from him while keeping in mind I need a dominant color, rather than the amazing variety one sees when you look at the landscape.

Thanks Elly. I worked on it more last night...and the tree area is looking better. I can't wait to get back in the studio today and finish it (hopefully). Thanks or your kind comment! Loriann

This is stunning. Really good work. I'll bet you are back in the studio having a great day. Is this also a pastel on watercolor?

Hi Melinda, welcome back!
Thanks for you positive comment. As to your question, yes this painting is pastel on top of watercolor. In addition, this time I also experimented with my marble dust painted with rubbed in acrylic. This was all done before painting with 3 layers of watercolor. I love to experiment with different ways to get "the feeling." The fun is in the play. With that said, back to the studio...
Happy painting, Loriann
