Geese heading West

9 x10 pastel and frozen watercolor on Uart paper, $100. plus tax
I had visualized the beautiful light and the translucent ice, but what I did not anticipate was the large groups of Canadian geese that kept flying towards me. I tried to add them without taking over the idea. It's cool that way the light actually glows as it pulls itself over the tree line. It would hit the side of the geese with a gentle light.

Loriann, This is a lovely painting. The light, as you mention, is truly shown to a great advantage in this work. How wonderful is it you live right by your inspiration!

Have a Nice Weekend!

Hi Kim,
Thank you. As you can tell I love living near the wonderful reservoir. It's a gift.
On another note, if I remember correctly, recently you blogged about photographing art work. This photo was taken outside and it was true to color. When I shot it inside using my gray card it was blued far too much. Always more to learn, eh?
Till next time,
Loriann

I love the yellow in the middle background. It looks delicious, like lemon meringue.
