The Colors Between

about 6.5x 11 pastel and watercolor on Uart paper $100.
Richard McKinley wrote about it, so did Jala....... one of the most subtle aspects of making a painting work is the colors between. To begin with, I do not blend colors, physically that is. I rely on visual blending. So the colors between is a concept that is consistently on my mind. The colors between means when you join two colors, the edge where they meet. Rather than blending with my finger,a total no-no for a double barreled (bandaided) artist, I blend with placement of another color. "What color do you place there?", is the question.
Alongside that thought is the mixing of my watercolors. Today I mixed on the paper.
It was GOOD to be back to the reservoir. I am never bored with that subject. I hope you aren't either.

I didn't see your last two posts till now. You are one hardcore artist. Picasso used to say a part of him was in every work. I think we can say a part of you is in all of your work literally! I hope you find way a way to negotiate this issue, and I think I speak for all of us WE WILL NEVER BE BORED WITH YOUR WORK! The clarity of this latest one is exquisite. I swear we had that same sky overhead.

Oh Brian, you are so kind! But what a boost, thank you!!!!!! The new ring finger /thumb grip is working...maybe it will give me a more delicate touch. Hmmmmmmmmmmm.
And wasn't that sky amazing? We probly shared a similar light. Sunrise had a stripe of purple and a lower stripe of yellow/orange. Then 15 minutes later it was this sky. Morning is the best light (to me). Hope you enjoyed your sky too. Thank you for your support!
