Edge of Paradise

7 x7 pastel and watercolor on Uart paper
This is the Potomac River at Riverbend Park, on the Virginia side of the river. My focus was much the same as yesterday's post. Edges that have no lines, simply color touching color.
Ahhhhh, that is the life! I love the colors that winter presents..those rich violets, blues and muted reds. A banquet I can eat from every day. Subtle with a quiet beauty. mmmmm.

Beautiful color, Loriann, and very nice fresh strokes of pastel. I hope your fingers are doing better this week. I was thinking of you last weekend when I did some sketching en plein air and nearly caught pneumonia. It seemed mild enough here but I was freezing trying to still still and draw. As it was, I was knocked out with the flu all week afterwards so I guess I'll need it to get a little warmer here. In addition to your skill I admire your hardiness!

Hi Brian! Yes, one finger is actually getting its nail back...yippeee! Thanks for asking!
You're right about staying still, it runs hand in hand with freezing.I think I get hardier each day. Ask my husband I used to be such a "cold wimp." Desire to do it makes me with stand the cold. Either that or I AM really crazy!
Sorry about the flu...what a drag! I hope you feel better and keep producing your gorgeous landscapes.
