I think I can feel the light more than if the sky was showing! Maybe the sky competes with the light on the water or maybe we just naturally gravitate toward the sky? Whatever. This painting is so serene and peaceful and it's hard to look away.

The light of the sky reflected in the water really does work nicely here, Loriann. It feels to me like the brooding stillness of a hazy morning.
