color harmony/ Square Big Daddy

For me, emotion is concept. The tools I use to share this feeling and hopefully resonate with feelings the viewer has, are limited but powerful. It really isn't possible to copy the colors you see in nature. Instead  one tool artists rely on is color harmony. It helps  create the illusion of real.
( I posted two today...this one is for tomorrow a studio day :-)

Wowie Zowie. OK, this is my new favorite. What colors! Just inspiring to look at. I'm always surprised with every new post. I could sit and look at this all day long. I know, knock off the sugar, sugar. Your masterful Buddette.

Hopefully I'll be better soon.
Your painting buddy.

This is so beautiful, Loriann, that I'm going to order some pastels. Speaking of tools.....

Hi Donald and thanks for dropping by my site (or should I say sight...hee hee) Thanks about the orchestra.

Hi Dale, Yup, get some pastels I think you will enjoy working with them. I know you love color! Love that recent onion!

I had a teacher recently talk about using 'relative accuracy, not literal accuracy', and I thought that applies to so much as we work from nature...compositions, color, as you say...so much.
Your concepts are always so clear; the emotions come through strongly.

Hi Karen, "Relative accuracy" I like that term. We create illusions of real...what real feels like not looks like. L

I love what presence you gave "Big Daddy." :) There's an amazing giant cottonwood out east half an hour drive from my house that I'd love to paint someday.

Thanks Jala, Big Daddy really demanded his space. A giant oak that I estimate is about 100 years old, he's just gorgeous.
Cottonwoods have that majestic presence as well. I look forward to seeing your "big daddy" cottonwood style....maybe in snow:-)
