aiming for simplicity

Another early morning trip to Lake Needwood I slept so well I couldn't make twilight.
As I paint this very familiar  scene I try to find the simplicity.

Hee hee- I was about to comment "so simple, so beautiful; love the simplicity" when I read your text about "trying to find the simplicity." :D

Guess I did it then, right Jala?

Simply beautiful.
I have been thinking that maybe there could be two tiny skaters on one of the frozen Lake Needwood paintings? Memories of skating lessons makes me smile :)

Hi Leah...
Thanks Leah.. you know Lake Needwood.
But this time if the skaters were there they would fall through the ice. Yipes! Our weather has been so warm lately that what little ice remains cracks and moans.
I too remember our fun, crazy skating lessons. What a crazy time of life that was! WOW!

Today was too crazy busy to write, but I've been thinking about you all day. Tomorrow, I'll tell you a story about my dogs and some of what they've taught me. Take your pills, and get another good night's sleep. Sweet dreams!

great piece! love the feeling of big space yet intimate foreground. So little can speak so much. Kick that fungal, bacterials as*^%$#!!!

hi b,

really like the way the island and land masses
behind it really step back, soft but a pleasing
effect. nice to see this view with a little more light
in the sky. i was beginning to think it was always
twilight at lake needmore. kind of like the movie
groundhog day.

One crit. a softer transition at the top where the darker blue meets the orange and light blue. not a color change, just a little blending. k?

Hard core to the end.
your painting buddy.

Hey Sam! Can't wait to hear your story. Isn't tomorrow cast o' thousand disappearance day?
Till later........

Hi Brian! Thank you and yeah, I'll kick it.

Hi PB!
Groundhog Day heehee...I liked that movie. You're right about the transition I will have to soften it.

Yes, I'd say so. :)

P.S. My word verification: obackit. Kinda sounds like a curse said upon hearing about the lame Obama health plan...
