backyard sunrise

10x10 pastel on BFK
This is a view out my back window (again). This time decided to remove all of the trees that were close to me. Their spidery branches serve as a distraction to the beautiful light in the sky at sunrise. As you know, the sky reflects down to the land and shares its color with it. The farther away, the more the sky color is in the land. At moments like this there is not much time to think, so adjustments are made in the studio.

I have been staying close to home lately. My little cat, Stripey, affectionately known as "the Dube" stopped walking on Sunday. His left hind leg stopped working. The ER vet thought it was a blood clot. Stripey's regular vet, Dr. Tom, thinks its a pinched nerve. He received a cortisone shot  on Monday and now I am watching and cajoling him round the clock. I am happy to report he is doing a little better.

We sure have had some gorgeous sunrises lately. I'm glad you are able to get those colors down so quickly! Best wishes for "the Dube's" recovery. I hope it isn't as serious as a blood clot.

Good Morning B!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Beautiful sky. like the complements along the horizon especially the shades of blue on the last house. really like the way the houses become just shapes and part of the landscape. Nice job.

Hope stripey continues to do better. I'll be signing off for a while starting feb 4th. wish me luck.

P.B. or lefty.

Hi Donna and thank you. I feel like I mam only able to study sunrises. The more I do it the better I will understand their nuances. I either do it by memory or actually painting (which combines memory since it doesn't last.)
The Dube happily accepts well wishes and extends his thank you too.

Hi PB, my southpaw friend
Are you going on vacation? I will definitely miss your presence. Thanks about the painting and Stripey. Seems like everyone has some kind of medical issue lately;-)

Seems someone wants us all to sit and stay for R & R. I, for one, got the message and am going to do just that. Besides, that gives me the time to send healing thoughts all around. Like to both you and Dubes. I'm pretty sure we'll all get exactly what we need.
