loyal dog walkers

I had to go downtown to the doctor's office. So I decide to use the change of scenery to make a different landscape. While the cold drizzle was falling the morning dog walkers were making their rounds on Rose Park.
On another note; at the doctor's office I learned that I have a version of TB. Good news is it's completely treatable- with 2 years of 3 different antibiotics!!!  I am someone who NEVER takes drugs/medicine in any form if I can avoid it. I guess I can't this time. Anyone have experience with myocobacterium avium complex?

As a person who doesn't like/take drugs/medicine in any form, I completely understand your shock at the news. Don't despair just yet, there are many ways to get treatment besides drugs, it just takes longer and requires patience and a lot of research.. What is TB, if you pardon my question?
On a side note, today's is a beautiful painting, the colors hum in harmony, the composition is solid.

Thanks Nika. This painting needed some time in the studio to harmonize the color, glad that it seems to work. TB is tuberculosis, something I am glad it is not.

Oh goodness, Loriann. I'm so glad you went to the doctor. And that it's completely treatable. TB is something, of course, you don't want to mess around with. I know you'll take good care of yourself and be fine.

Exquisite painting!

Thank goodness it's treatable... TAKE THE DRUGS!!!!

I haven't stopped by in a while, but I'm glad I did. Get well and keep on painting!

Thanks Janelle and Marian. I will always keep painting.... I am viewing this as a minor snafu. Happy painting!

Any health issue can have effects on your life overall. I just bounced out of three years of minor stuff - that was cumulatively major after time!

You're going to be fine, since I know the go-getter that you are, Loriann. Modern medicine is a major wonder. I was well treated by my physician and physical therapists - real angels, IMHO.

dear b,

I really like this little piece. lots of feeling
and the color harmony is beautiful.

thank goodness, this tb thing is treatable. Do take
the medications and follow the doc's orders. i'm sure you'll do fine. as fast as you're always going, i'm astonished that any bacteria could catch up with you. how do you feel on a day to day basis? we need you with us producing you wonderful paintings and keeping us educated.

please do take care and know that i'll
be thinking about you.

your painting buddy.

Oh, for crying out loud! That's what you get for going out at all hours!

Seriously though... though antibiotics suck, they're sometimes necessary. So, be good and TAKE YOUR MEDICINE! All of it. Don't skip any. Antibiotics need to be taken religiously.

People who never get sick are A) lucky, and B) can be lousy patients. So you have a new job--getting healthy. As they say, build a bridge and get over it!

P.S. We'll all be watching, so no funny business!

Hi Casey, Glad you made it out of your medical issues too. You are right modern medicine can be amazing. And I will persevere. I figure it can only get better now. Thanks for your concern!

Hi PB!
Thank about this little painting... I count on you to tell me. And look YOU are writing/pecking! Wonderful! How is you arm doing?
I will follow the doc's orders. Already just two mega loads of antibiotics and my body is beginning to behave itself. Day to day was getting rough, that's why they were finally able to diagnose it. I wasn't sleeping because I had been coughing up blood. Not a trick I would recommend. I had a full night a sleep last night, finally. Life is good and sleep makes it even better. No bacteria can get me and keep me.
Thanks for your concern my friend!

Ah Sam, the whole time I was painting this one I was thinking about you and the dogs. How many dogs do you have anyway?
As for the antibiotics I will take them. 2 years is a long time...just think how many paintings I will have to show for 2 years!
Taking my medicine will be difficult, at first, to remember; but I will take them.
Build a bridge and get over it...hee hee I like that one.

Loriann,
I wish you well that you will be getting healthy soon. You might want to ask your doctor about eating yogurt to balance out all of those antibiotics Take care and be extra aware of how to deal with the weather when you go out to paint. Your past few weeks of work have been inspiring. I enjoy seeing where your explorations are taking you. Also your sense of color is becoming deeper and even richer.

Hi NJ! Thanks for the well wishes. And yes I am eating live culture yogurt and probiotics.
Thank you for your comment about my recent work. I am really enjoying the roller coaster ride of discovery despite the constant frustration. It's nice to know some one else sees the metamorphosis happening.
cheers!
PS This morning was a wonderful warm morning-7:00 am in the 40s is almost balmy now!

COUGHING UP BLOOD?!!!! Oh my god!!!!
I have never heard of this disease. How does one get it? Is it like TB, where someone nearby coughing who has it gives it to you?
Eat yogurt and/or take probiotic supplement every single day without fail, or else those antibiotics will play havoc and cause yeast infections!
Take care of yourself.

P.S. I like how different this one is from your usual stuff. And I don't think I have ever seen a figure in your landscapes!

loriann signori said...

Hi Jala, The biggest difference from TB is it is not contagious and they have absolutely no idea how you get it. Did you know they make a special high "living organisms yogurt"? They sell it at Whole Foods. And yup, I have already resigned myself to taking the meds. I am actually starting to feel better already.
You are right I rarely put figures in landscapes. It just seemed like the idea of dog walkers was what this park was about. I probably could have put in twenty more! No reason why we have to have a usual right?
Are you starting to feel better? I know you have been through the ringer with all kinds of bugs lately.
take care, L

Hi Lorianne,
This painting, for some reason, reminds me of Monet's work. It is simply striking and I think that's because of your color harmony. Love it!

Coughing up blood, not good. Glad you took the step to confer with your physician about it. Well wishes to you, my friend.

Hi Brenda!

I am finally feeling better, thanks. By the way, I have two dogs and Sam only has one. So there, Sam (sticking tongue out at her across the street)!

Glad you're feeling better already.

Hi Jala, I am glad you are finally better. So this one is for you too...better still I will have to do another one sometime for my 2 dog friend. Sam lives across the street?..! our small world gets smaller!

Such a different sense of space and perspective, Loriann - I like this one a lot. Best wishes with your treatment and I hope the medication is not giving you any unpleasant side effects.
