drive and stop, quiet divas

8x8 pastel on BFK
I decided it would be better to go to the same place as yesterday. It was overcast and certainly not an ooh la la moment. I chose the sky to be the diva. She wasn't the kind of sky that yells, "look at me." Oh no, she was a whisperer in quiet clothes. Her beauty was in her quietness.

Interesting that you thought my hot summer evening was calm; your whisper-quiet sky is a gentle calm. Compared to my screaming orange one, it's another planet. But the comparison does no justice to either one. My pale and delicately colored pastels sit quietly waiting for me to calm down. Someday I will. Maybe. :o]

I much prefer quiet divas over the in-your-face loud kind. Beautiful piece! It seems that green is finally reappearing and our snowbanks are almost gone!

Hi Sam, Quiet comes in different flavors. Yours was warm. It was the neutrals in the front and the hot sky that gave a hot, heavy air that stilled everything. Springtime here brings a very delicate calm.

Hi Donna, Thanks you. Yes the snow banks are almost gone. Those that remain are frosted in black. I think they too will leave this weekend with the drenching rains. Don't you love this warm weather?

Hi Susan and thank you. Calm beauty is more challenging as it requires restraint, something I am struggling to acquire.

Quietly beautiful, Loriann. Such nice purples and violets, and I like the low horizon here very much.
