order out of chaos and chaos out of order

8x8 pastel on wallis
The river is overflowing. Land is washed out and trees look as if they are sprouting from the middle of the river. It was interesting because the view was so complex that it made no sense. I liked choosing that. The idea of making order out of chaos...then chaos out of order (stroke fun) is very appealing.
It was good to be back to the river.

Nothing says Spring better than a well-watered tree! (You can tell I live where any tree that survives what Nature throws at it is a miraculous survivor.)

This is wonderfully WET.

Hi Sam,
Well watered is an understatement! It's amazing how much land the river has eaten. Still, as it subsides the flowers are returning. I wonder how did those little roots make it through the flooding.

Lovely work, Loriann - I love the rich pinks and greens here.

Very cool.
For some reason, this looks to me like a print. Was it on monotype?
