studio update

Here are the two paintings I have been working on for the past two weeks.  Neither is finished. Glazes take time and patience. Waiting till each layer dries before placing the next is the biggest challenge. When I know what I have to do next, but can do it, it's like constantly holding onto the reins. Yipes!

Hi Loriann, wow you have been busy! I love where these are going. Such rich vibrations of colour I wish I could see them 'in the flesh'.

Beautiful painting Loriann, I am wondering what colours you used to glaze with in the first tree painting. I remember the first stage very well.

Oh, Loriann! These are gorgeous already. I especially like the spaces of air between the trees in the top one. Are you sure these aren't done?

These are beautiful Loriann. Are you enjoying this process? You are getting very nice results but I know the possible conflict between process and product.

Hi Lisa, Busy, yes sireee. Can't wait for tomorrow to see more of where they are going...while I have a concept n my mind, the painting still rules. I am its slave.;-)

Hi Caroline, I am not quite sure exactly what i used...let me think.I think it's my basic (traditional)palette with the addition of indanthrone blue, hansa yellow and transparent brown oxide. Since I am doing 4 right now at the same time, it's sometimes hard to recall. I hope that is helpful.

Hi Katherine,
I am still not done since I feel I want more from it. If I go too far, that's ok too.Sandpaper is my friend.

Hi Barbara, Good question. Enjoying the process...mmmmmmm. I am learning patience. Learning is hard. I am willing to endure a little pain for hopeful future gain.....is that a good answer?
