remember your focal point

16x20 oil
Sometimes I really wonder about myself. I say things, yet I don't do them myself. This painting  was missing a strong focal point. It was too amorphous; nothing to hold your eye. Nothing present to tell you how to travel through the picture plane.. Hopefully I changed all that. I am satisfied, for now. Below  is the painting before my final decisions and glazing.

Hey, how did you do that! wow, it looks like there is some opaque in the water area. A very beautiful painting.

So beautiful... I love the colours, so late November early December. For the past two mornings here, the air has been coloured mauve. Early morning light is always spectacular!

Lovely glow of light and an elegantly simple composition. Gorgeous.

Hi Caroline,
Thank you about the painting.I appreciate it. Yes, I guess there is opaque in the water. I do whatever works to get the vision I want.
