back to the river, yay!

10x10 pastel and watercolor on Uart

Finally, I am really out there, ready to paint outdoors! Still I can not use my easel so i have found a way to sit and work (for now.)
I, of course, returned to the river in the early morning, my forever muse. My husband came with me and lifted my stuff down there; but, now I have a plan for next time. Solo.  I must say it felt so good to be out there and be part of nature while I painted. The sounds, the light, the cold, it's all part of the feel. This is the best time of year. The neutrals are the most splendid of all. Violet grays, red grays, orange grays, golden grays, blue grays, all amazing. Today's grays were mostly violet and gold...beautiful complements.

I feel your joy. Being outside is exhilarating on it's own. If you get to paint on top of that, it's haven!
I have such a hard time these days convincing myself to stay indoors to get anything done:)

I love the feeling of this one, Lorianne. It's instructional to see how you use such small touches of greener/gray to liven the whole piece.

Hi Nika, I understand your problem, I have the same one. Do what you enjoy! Florida will be very HOT in the summer, maybe then focus on using all your plein knowledge in the stdio.

Hi Dale and thank you for your kind comment! It's nice to see you back again!

That's a great one. Indeed, the still naked trees are grey, but which greys... You hit them. O:-)

Hi Ulrike and thank you. Greys are the best aren't they?

Hi Brenda, Yes, it was a real celebration! Have fun tomorrow!

Hi Donna,
The river indeed is my friend...we have an unspoken relationship. Hope you too are able to find time to be out there!

Thanks Paula! Best wishes in your upcoming show!

I'm sure that under that hat is your happy, smiling face! Good to see you getting back and feeling stronger. But, you are different, now, right? Back to the familiar and yet different. How delicious!

Those reflections are beautiful and I like the recession. It feels full of life. I was wondering is your full name Loriann Where There's a Will There's a Way Signori?

Excellent landscape. A singularly good one - I really favor it.

Happy for you to be back at it. I almost could go out today, but for the wind. Soon.
