more from Hameau Farm

12x16 pastel
From all the paintings on my trip, this is the one I feel has the most possibility. Why you wonder? I think it is because I resonate with fields. Finding rhythms in the grasses and flowers send shivers through my spine. They have openings to the kind of play that is so exciting to me. Isn't that why we paint? Right now I am preparing a large board for its transformation into oil.
Here are two other pastels- not my favorites so they will stay nestled in tracing paper.
overlook 8x16 pastel
up the driveway, 8x8 pastel

The field pastel is beautiful. What kind of flower is that stunning pink?
Also, I really like the overlook pastel so I hope it doesn't stay nestled for too long. Thought of you this past weekend as we traveled the Cabot Trail.

Hi Leah!
The flower looks like a phlox but is really hesperis. It is a gorgeous pink! Where did you go on the Cabot trail?

Hi Liz!
You too love pink!

I hope you look again at the two you don't favor today, since you might feel better about them on another day.

The pink field is exciting, but then I'm a sucker for pink. Also really like the composition of the bottom study.

This looks like such an exciting place to sketch. I think all of these have great potential for paintings. With a slight crop (maybe) 'up the driveway' would look great in portrait format imho. They all convey a light happy warmth.

Gorgeous pink field! Your passion for painting fields really shows in this one. I like the subtle color shifts in the sky too!

Hi Carol,
It's nice to meet another "sucker for pink"!

Hi Lisa, You are right, the farm was a lovely place to work, as were the surrounding areas.

Thanks Eden!

Hi Donna, Just standing there in that field was exciting! Thanks for dropping by!
