Here are two plein air paintings from my last trip to Sante Fe. With a few adjustments to tie in the color harmony, they finally work. I am getting my mind set for Sedona.
Thanks Takeyce! The low horizon has been enticing me for awhile. Thanks for your comment!
Hi Sarah, I go there occasionally. My in-laws have a place in Placitas. When I found my storage of New Mexico paintings I saw an opportunity to "practice" the new terrain before arriving in Sedona. Even if Sedona is different than New Mexico, it is closer to the color we have here in the east. Where do you live in New Mexico? Thanks for your comment.
Good assemblage of colors reminiscent of Arizona skies.
Sedona has magnificent red rock and night time skies to match. While there, you might want to walk or ride up to the small plane airport. The views from there are terrific.

These are lovely, Loriann. I am especially fond of that low horizon with the dramatic skies. Wonderful!

Wow, those are glorious skies, Loriann! I look forward to seeing what inspires you in Sedona! I think you may need some warm reds for the rocks :-)
There is a lovely peaceful energy to these pieces, I could drink in the colours for hours. Have a great time in Sedona.
Hi Donna!
Thanks for your support! I did buy a new selection of girault red/brown/pink. I realized my box has little of those colors.
Thanks Lisa! The colors are so different than the east coast colors. I can't wait to see Sedona!
