distilling an idea

I continue with finding variations of colors and ways to express and idea. This time I looked at one of my plein air paintings, shown below. I know it really doesn't resemble the painting...but it was simply a springboard from which to jump.
To me it says, when removed from the scene and allowed to distill the important information I tend to have more success.

Hi Lisa,
Thanks so much for commenting. Watching it unfold has been fun for me as well. She (the series) now has a life and body of her own. Who knows what will happen next.

This is just beautiful work Loriann. So sensitive and yet colorful. What is the size of this piece?

Thanks Brenda! The top piece is 6"x6". This size seems to me great for exploring color ideas without wedding me to a huge completion.
