reorganization of pastel box

I realized (finally) that dividing warm and cool / light and dark has been the way I approach a painting. So I finally decided to reorganize my palette. The columns of the far right and left are the grays, which I used to group together. As I use it I may reorganize the sticks, add or subtract. I ramped up the lights and darks when I noticed that my palette was heavy in the middle and too light on the ends.
What spurred this on? I noticed so many sticks in my box were used little and it didn't really suit the way I think- warm /cool.
My big question is pinks and magentas. Sometimes they seems just fine in cools sometimes in warms. As I say the sorting will continue.... maybe I just have too many pinks.
Have you had the urge to reorganize your palette or box? Why?
This is the trial run painting from the reorganization.

Your palette organization makes a lot of sense, Loriann. I'll be curious to know how you like it. The painting you did makes me think you are onto something: it's really nice! Thanks for your last post too - those moonlight paintings are definitely poetic!

Hi Lenka and Donna,
Thanks for your comments. I must say that the reorganization is amazing! The one question is...why did it take me so long to figure this out?

Yes! I had the urge to re-arrange one day while out and about: I was working outside one day and the box was in full sun. I looked down and was surprised by the powerful difference between two side-by-side greens which were the same value but worlds apart in temperature. They were both "medium green" but they were as different as night and day. The bright sun told the tale clearly. And that was when I decided to never ever again get them mixed up and jumbled up together. And be fooled into picking up a warm when what I needed was a cool. So I re-arranged by temperature. So far, I am happy with it. It's working well.
