later afternoon glow, distilled

Trying to find ways to create the late afternoon glow from the marshlands at Chincoteague. I want a distilled landscape, without fluff and details.

Beautiful - with no distracting fluff and only the essential glow.

Hi Loriann I love the softness in your recent paintings, the way the light gently filters through your scenes is very nice. I was wondering what size of works these are.

Thank you Lauren, Caroline and Donna!
My recent plein air paintings are all about 8x8" or 10x10."it seems to be a constant struggle to approach my idea, especially on location. But I guess the struggle is truly what it is all about. Today I described "stagnant" to my students. It was about water, but quickly related to art and how accepting knowing how and just doing it again and again makes one stagnant. Enough for lunch break philosophize-ing back to work... L
