9x9 pastel on watercolor -Uart paperIf you don't have color harmony the piece won't work. It is as simple as that....but hard to do. Choosing where you want the viewer to look and how you want the viewer to travel through the painting is also essential. Place your strongest color contrast there. In this painting I wanted to make certain that the viewer looks up rather than linger on the reeds in front. In order to do that I made the colors close in value yet varying in temperature.
