Here are four small paintings done by the roadside. They are done quickly, without thought. I simply respond.
It's funny how if you just allow yourself to react without making a color plan, the light even feels better. I love these little Haikus!
Try it sometime and let me know how it goes. I think you will love the spontaneity.
BTW I will exhibit some of these little jewels in the Waverly Street Gallery's show -Process and Inspiration. Here is a
link to the show.

Good Morning and what lovelies to see first thing. Since I'm in NC and won't be able to see these in person, what sizes are these smalls? I'll be on a road trip soon and prepping supplies so your post has reminded me to look beyond the usual easel plein air set-up. Thanks
What a good idea. Love these little works.
Liese, These smalls are approximately 3"x3" small. I love doing these! So freeing.
For the gallery I framed 4 together for one presentation.I would have framed some separates but I didn't have any tiny frames. (I would have used the standard frame I use for my 6"x6".) Thanks for checking in and commenting.
Thanks Jean!
Gorgeous! You can work in any size seemlesly! Wish I had your flexibility!
Hi Rebecca,
It's true our heart resonates to certain sizes. But don't let that be a reason not to stretch. It feels good to stretch- even if we do just bounce back to where it feels best. thank you and paint on!
