Woof

about 6 x12 pastel and watercolor on Uart paper
This one is a serious woofer, destined for the kennel. A day ago it was a very harmonious golden/green light painting, but I have been reading George Inness and he talks about adding a surprise of color. Which I did and should have stopped....but Noooooooooo. Instead I was compelled to change more and more till it was unrecognizable and then I wiped it, worked, wiped it again and finally this. Oh dear!
A quote from George's son (named George, of course)as he watched his father paint,"All the rest was dark and in perfect tone. With that supreme stroke he struck the accidental, and pushed the harmony almost to discord." Well this one was pushed...to the other side.
Strike it down for woofer and begin another.

Let me know which kennel you take it to, I'll be right there for a rescue. I don't see the problem with it, but I do understand the process your talking about. Just hide it for awhile and then take another look. Maybe the surprise will happen then!

Chi, Ginger and Leah,
No offense about the dog kennel and woofers mean for dogs..only for my painting. It's great to hear from you again. Woof!

Brian, Thanks! I guess the biggest problem was it wasn't my vision, my intention. I will take your advice and put it away for now. I also think I got way too light/white in the sky.Seems like I could have done a better job if I just chose a different color to represent that value, rather than white in the color I chose. Oooops...live and learn.

Thanks Bob...maybe I am jaded only cuz it's not what I wanted..not the vision. Thanks just the same:-)

WHAT are you talking about?! I really like this! Am I the only one????

Jala, I am glad you like it...but I know that you know what I mean when I say it's not what I had intended. I swear I had a real beauty in greens and golds, tiny blue when whammo I changed something and kept going. Now it is like one of the spies who have to change his/her appearance to protect their identity. Oh dear.

Wow how interesting what you write about this! When I scrolled down to see it, I went OH!! I LOVE that blue. It sounds like you don't love it because you had something else in your mind's eye, I agree with the others...hide it for a while (if it still exists :) )

Karen, It's hidden out of reach. Thanks!
