What a glorious early summer day it is! The rain stopped, everything is green, wet and saturated with COLOR!!!!! I jumped out of bed when I looked outside...there was no fog at my house but the air felt ripe for the amazing stuff. I knew...the RIVER!
It seems that the color of the trees, which is a golder green than it will be in summer, makes for a beautiful gold light. Yum!
Certainly a hard day to go back to the studio...but I need to work on the biggie.

Wow! What a change in palette. And probably none too soon for the pastel supply. :) It's really beautiful.
Wow, Loriann, this is one of my all-time favorites!!!!!!
And thanks for the comment just now on my poppy. "Sargent would've loved it"--now there's a great thing to hear. :)
Hi Dale! You are right...the colors are all brand new. Thank you!
Hi Jala...wow..one of your all-time favorite. You make the bar higher. And you're welcome about the compliment, you deserve it.
This has a really beautiful shift on color from some of your other recent ones.
Oh now I just read about new colors....cool! I look forward to more with the new colors
Hi Loriann,
"Reveal' has some beautiful color which lends to a wonderful sense of space. It seems that you have changed your palette. I know that you prefer working outdoors but might you consider a larger studio version of this painting? i enjoyed the paintings that you have posted over the past few days yet I find the colors used in "Reveal" to elicit a mood of contemplation. I have the quote below hanging in my studio and I thought of it while viewing "Reveal".
"Painting is poetry that is seen rather than felt and poetry is painting that is felt rather than seen"
Leonardo da Vinci
It's wonderful how you're showing us the changes in nature, week by week. Beautiful!
Hi Karen! Thanks for your comment..you are completely right.
Hi NJ Art!
Thanks for the quote, I love it. In fact I think I will put it in my studio too, along with my other (right now) "Mix brains with paint."
You're right about the gold greens making a mood of contemplation ...I was thinking about going big with this one. I just love fog! Thanks for your feedback!
Loriann
Janelle, Isn't it amazing just how much the colors change? By painting each day outside I really feel like it is part of me. How is your glazing going lately?
Thanks for your comment!
Wonderful feeling here, Loriann - the color and mood of this painting is really very nice.
