6x6 pastel and watercolor on marble dust board

AH....the river, my love. If I could write sonnets I would.

Beautiful. Am I correct in reading that the warmth is in the sky and the reflections in the water?

This is a really strong piece as was the last. Do you feel a bit more inspiration after a competition? I know I usually do and may just be projecting but these are strong pieces. Not to say the others aren't but I'm curious about your feelings after a competition. I know art is a personal thing but when it's your livelyhood we try everything we can.

Oh, wow! This is stunning. It's as though we're all there looking through water. Really well done!

This is a sonnet.

Hi Loriann,
I love the feeling of joy that is apparent in this painting. The past few paintings are beautiful
visual poems.
You and your subject matter have become one.
Looking at this body of work recalls for me
the work of Monet. You are of course your own
artist but there is a connection that goes back
to the American & French Impressionists. For my money these artists are still relevant today & have much to offer.

Exquisite texture, edges, and light. Very lacy indeed, poetic too.

Wow! Thanks so much guys!

Good to hear from you again Bob.

Brian, You are correct in your reading. And I never really thought about being more inspired after a competition....hmmm.... I will take notice.Let me think. I will get back to you about my feeling after competition.

Melinda and Pam, Wow..a sonnet, you think so? Thanks.

NJ, Thanks so much for the comparison to the American and French Impressionists. THEY really knew how to do it. I can only juts struggle on my way.

Thanks Jill.
