twilight in gold and silver

10 x10 pastel on BFK
It was a silvery winter solstice twilight. The sun was still below the distant mountains, yet it peeked through with hues of gold. The clouds seemd to glow silver. It was my friends warm and cool at play again.
Happy Winter Solstice! The light is on its way....tomorrow we gain one minute of light.

Hi B,

Palm trees? Loriann Signori? Can't be.
I swear woman, you find time to paint anywhere.

Love the touch of teal, orange, pink, soft blue right next to the horizon. I like it a lot, just can't get used to the palm trees. I'll bet the light and the warmth is a very good feeling
After watching the news on the east coast, you getting out was a miracle. Someone is looking out for you.

Best wishes,
Your painting buddy

Hey PB,
You are so right. I will always find time to paint. It's actually nice at twilight and no one else expects anything from you then, as they sleep in their beds.
The palm trees do take some getting used to. They make wonderful negative shapes. There are so many of them, I just need to chose which ones I want.
Thanks about the horizon, it was the most exciting part of the landscape (for me.)
How is the sledding up in the great north?

Hi Sam and the dogs,
Travel luck is an understatement. Now that I am here and get emails from friends back there I realize how amazing it was.
And yes, freakin' palm trees! You will see them soon, in Honolulu. I am just helping you adjust.
Isn't it great when someone else washes your hair? And you have the best excuse to indulge in that wonderful extravagance.
And last, Sam..when you hang10 I'll take5 .. heehee

So good to hear you made it safely to CA, it's pretty unbelievable!
This one is wonderful, very different color scheme. Love the silvery purple with a bit of gold and turquoise peeking through, can't wait to see more.
Yay to one more minute of sunlight!!!
Happy Holidays to you and your family.

Hi Nika!
The colors here in CA are very different. When I painted this we were in Palm Springs, in the desert. The desert colors are gorgeous. Now I am in the hills of Escondido... another light and color.
I agree Yay!! to more sunlight. Happy Holidays to you!
