march melt

10 x10 pastel on BFK
The lake is melting and the light was low. The values were closer than I showed. I darkened the tree mass in front to create distance.
Spring is in the air. You can see it in the tree edges. They have a pink/red tint; in sun, it appears orange. Love it!

Yes, there is a pink tinge in the sky these days. It's almost magical! And you portray that magic in this painting!

I was also intrigued by your monotypes. I don't know anything about the process and would love to know more.

oooh, nice! The play between the pink of the snow in the foreground and the bluish gray in the water next to it is magic! Well done.

Hi Janelle, You're right that pink that is appearing in the sky now is magic.
On another note, I think you might enjoy monotypes as well. Easy process.Paint on a plate, rub it onto paper and voilah! print. Very painterly! Give it a try...you may be pleasantly surprised.

Hi Nika! Thank you Thank you!
