stress free, my life is normal again

10x10 pastel and watercolor on Uart

Ah, I did it. The opening is over and I did the demo. I was shocked and delighted that many people came to the demo. I talked and talked. I hope it all made sense, since I was so nervous and exhausted... not a combo with which I am familiar. I talked so much I didn't finish the painting. I will try to post it tomorrow, a before and after.
A big thank you to all my supportive family and friends and to all the new friends I met at the opening. I was happy to see artists and non-artists alike at the demonstration. All kinds of interesting questions.  I was delighted to see that Jake, the young artist friend I met when I  painted daily at the reservoir, attended the demo with his parents and grandparents. I was amazed at the questions he asked. He's a little thinker.
The whole experience was fun, exciting...but I am glad to get back to normal.

PS This painting is same location.....different diva.
PPS A BIG thank you to Leah, who cam all the way from Nova Scotia, just to be the supportive bestest  friend in the world that she is! Sometimes I think I am the luckiest person in the world.

It was a whirlwind weekend and lots of fun. I am home save and sound. Back to reality!

YAY!!! You made it! The demo sounds like a hit, even if you don't remember half of what you said. I'm sure your demo-ees were glad for every word. They must have known how lucky they were to be there. I'm definitely looking forward to getting a free peek at the painting.

I'm very happy that Leah could be there. There's nothing better than having an old friend with you, someone who really gets who you are.

Congratulations and welcome back!

Hey Leah! I am glad to hear you are back safe and sound...seems empty without you. Come back soon, real soon!

Hi Sam, I am delighted you are back on blog. And no I don't remember half of what I said at the demo, even though i had planned it all, even passed out a little info sheet. I will post the painting soon. I have missed your presence on blog. I hope you are taking good care of yourself.
Yes, you are very right there is nothing like an old friend! Leah is awesome!
But new friends are good too!

Congratulations, Loriann - wish I could have been there for your opening and the demo! I'm sure it was a treat and a learning experience for everyone there. This is a beautiful painting - very nice handling of all those warm and cool greens of springtime.

I wish I could have been there too, Loriann but I'm afraid I would have pestered you with questions so it's just as well. You deserve a break from all of your hard work. I love the colors in this painting!

Hi Brian and thank you! If you ever make it this way let me know. Greens are the hardest, thanks for noticing!

Hi Donna, Your questions are great..never stop. If you do come down to town let me know. I will meet you at the gallery if I can. Maybe we can go for tea. cheers L

Isn't it so true that no matter how you prepare for a demo and you're all nervous and everything, it just takes on a life of its own. I try to put myself in the place of the audience because when I'm there I'm just engaged in everything the artist is doing. Congrats. Your work has great depth and rich color.

Thanks for you comment Mary. I like your idea of just putting yourself in the audience's shoes. I too am absorbed when I listen to another artist. Thanks you about my work!
