NOW love returns: 6:30am, she is alive

11x17 pastel and watercolor on UArt
Last night I fell asleep with the feeling of disappointment. I returned to the field, but she was someone new and we didn't know each other. You know that feeling? Well I think my problem was I was painting IT, not feeling it. Today with fresh eyes I returned at 6:30 am. Now I am relieved. We know each other again. I could feel the soft edges and the rich beautiful light.
As to the's BEEEEEautiful, warm, not hot. As others have mentioned, folks here are complaining about the heat; but for me, who left 104 degrees, 85 feels cool and wonderful!

That feeling is just jet lag - your field has been waiting for you.

In my sleepy hometown on the coast, 70 degrees is hot.

This one is singing - I am glued to my CRT to see what comes next.

You're in your element. Sparkling cool blue. Like Casey, I'm glued to the tube.

It's great to see the passion you have for this subject come through in the painting! I hope this level of inspiration stays with you all week!

You were just very tired before and maybe just too excited about the great task in front of you. Relax and simply let your painting flow. Beautiful work Loriann, have a lovely day. Still cool in Scotland I am wearing my wool jumper today!!

I so very much enjoy reading your blog- as well as experiencing your work, your words and process are beyond informative-you 'see' and 'feel' - you transcend into such a beautiful body of work. Thank you!

Lovely Loriann - so nice to get a glass of lemonade with you yesterday. As I drove north along the water and watched the magic light slip away I kept thinking what a wonderful area that is for painting!
