morning, happy field

8x18 pastel and watercolor on Uart
When I start to get a real feel for a place I can see it in my strokes. That calligraphy makes me happy. I do realize it can't be all calligraphy, or else it negates its importance. Quiet, smooth places and touches of tiny criss-cross make dancing marks work better. It is the same in oil...texture and variety makes for a more interesting work.

Those pink strokes do look happy! I envy the way you are able to see through all the distractions and just paint that happiness, Loriann.
