twilight

5x9 pastel on somerset
When I took this painting from the field I knew it needed work. I posted it anyway. Now, after an hour in the studio, it is ready. The morning light is so much more evident after I glazed it allowing the more interesting grays of the morning twilight  draw the viewer in. You can view the version that I began with on October 28th's post.

Ah yes, I remember this one...good to see it finished. Love the swirls in the sky, as if light is just breaking through and moving with the breeze. Fantastic Loriann!

Subtle and soft with the changes you've made. It's like the day is having a good stretch before it begins.

Hi Caroline and thank you very much! It was fun to move the now thick pastel around with my fingers to create "strokes". I think it is a much improved version.

Hi Kvan, good way to put it...a good stretch before awakening.

Your changes gave everything its place. Now it all looks like it belongs there.
