Here are a few of my latest plein air pieces. I have managed to paint outside a little each day. Most of my studio time has been dedicated to my latest huge piece- the creation of my studio. When time allows I will be sure to sit down and tell you the stories. Here's a photo I took early last week. Now it is actually painted (one color so far..more to come.) The job now is the inside. So much more to do!

Loriann, your new studio looks gorgeous. I can't wait to see how it progresses. It looks like a dream come true.
I like the two story set-up. That should work out great - there is much fun ahead for you.
The lines in these fog studies/works are what I love.
What a great studio!! Can hardly wait to see more of your fabulous creative space.
Building your studio will be the most ambitious (and the most rewarding) artwork you'll ever do. For you, that's saying something So far, it's beautiful. I'm so glad for you!
The studies are wonderful. I see you're still u with the sun, early bird. Getting the worm, as usual!
I have studio envy! What a blessing to have a beautiful space to create beautiful work. Can't wait to see interior shots.
A real WOW of a studio!!!!
Beautiful studies. But, wow! the studio is looking so great! You must be so excited.
Hi Loriann,
I enjoyed how you captured the changing light in your pastel studies. True dedication. Your studio looks great- many many creative years ahead in your new space. I am curious as to how you planned your studio-what was your inspiration? How are you dealing with heating and cooling? Will your space have running water ? Maybe you will be featured in the next issue devoted to studios that American Artist publishes. BTW-how does the foliage look in your neck of the woods. Where I live it looks like it has been past peak all season

Really nice little studies, Loriann! As always, I notice how much the underpaintings influence what lies on top. Your studio has two stories ... WOW!
These are really beautiful!
these quick plein air pieces show what is possible. Capturing atmosphere with intent. No muss no fuss! Well done.
Hi Loriann, love those glimpses of light and weather in your outdoor work, you really do capture the essence of it all. Your studio looks very beautiful, you must be delighted. Looking forward to seeing your first painting on the easel in there!
So exciting! Will it have two floors inside or will the light from the upper window shine on the floor below?
Wow everyone!!!! Thank you for all your kind comments! I will tell you a little more about the studio and then address questions. First, there is on big section for painting. It has the 21 foot ceiling and all the windows. The wall to the east has no windows. It's for paintings (display- higher half) and the lower half is for a work space for paintings. So yes Liz the upper arched window is from the north side and will create an aura of constant light all day. I can't afford running water yet...but it will have heat. I am working on that. The south side has a loft for painting storage and my books, plus a small desk. The lower floor feels so spacious and is just for painting...yay!
During this crazy time I just work outdoors for the couple of hours in the morning. (the light is awesome!)Later I either teach or sand, hammer , paint or something. Today I stapled all the insulation into the walls! I needed a very tall ladder.
Thanks Janelle, Casey, Katherine, Sam (I will return your kind email),Deborah,Marilyn, Pam, Donna, Whitney,Caroline and Liz.
