wolf kahn and his color monoprints

6x6 pastel

I see my new "on the road" series dipping into printmaking. Here is a wonderful video of Wolf Kahn and Emily Mason at their monotype/monoprint show. In it, WK gives a class on his way of making a print. Enjoy!

Nice work! Funny, I've been playing with similar imagery. Thank you for the Wolf Kahn post...I've been to his openings, shows...but never had the opportunity to take a class/workshop with him which I feel I really missed out on.

Thanks Loriann - it would be interesting to use pastels over monoprints, especially with Mr. Kahn's instruction! Your road series is inspiring!

Hi Barbara! WK is an amazing man. Hearing him speak, seeing his work are both treats beyond compare. Have fun with your work!

Hi Donna,
Didn't the video make you wish you were there?
Pastel over monoprint is an interesting method.

Hi Sona,
Seeing him speak is a delight. I have been lucky to do so! Glad you liked the video.

I loved the video, thanks for sharing. I am a painter-turned-printmaker, so Wolf Kahn is a special inspiration. I think a lot of Degas work was pastel over monotype. I can't wait to see what you do next, love your work!

Glad you liked the video Ken. WK is a real sweetie and he shares! Degas' works with print and pastel inspire me too.
