Prior to the last week I have never felt compelled to paint with bright red and orange. The glory of this autumn's maples make me try to give honor to their amazing beauty. Now that's a difficult thing to do. Nothing can be as beautiful as these trees. Here is yesterday's attempt.

delicious color!
So beautiful! You've really captured that colorful glow, Loriann, and your recent tree and field paintings are just stunning!!!
Thanks Kvan and Donna! Seems like autumn is my soul-mate.I am having so much fun out there! I doubted this one because it crossed an arbitrary line of saturated color. I compared it to my other fields and said OMG I can't do that! Now it like it best. Go figure.
Beautiful! I can't remember which artist said it but the advice about painting fall colors was don't even try, just look and enjoy them because the colors are so intense and overpowering that it is impossible to really capture them and still look like a "real" landscape. I can understand that but I find it impossible not to have a go at them. I also remember painting a series of apple paintings one winter and feeling like the red pastels had a really positive effect on my mood.
Hi Patricia, i am happy that i didn't hear that advice first.Just seeing that landscape makes me happy and i want to paint it all! thanks for stopping by and commenting!
Yowzaa! Love this one and the one below!
