opalescence of morning fog

24x36 oil on wood
Fog can have opalescence that is spellbinding. I worked with the wax medium to help me get that feel.

Loriann, your oils are as luminous as your pastels! If I owned this one I would stand in front of it waiting patiently for the fog to lift because I can feel the sunlight waiting to appear. Gorgeous!

Thanks so much Donna. How are you doing? Your health? your art?

Hi Loriann, I'm still dealing with the headaches but when I get short breaks I am at my easel. I really hope to get back to plein air painting this summer. I miss it!

This only came through into my email this morning. A very beautiful painting. I was wondering why you are painting on wood and what sort of wax you are using and the amount Loriann.

Hi Caroline, I like the hardness of wooden. I can sand it, scrape it all in different ways. I use soho wax. there are many versions I also have dorlands wax. I like the wax as much as the nasty liquin.
PS thanks about the painting!
