sunset forgotten fields series

I have foolishly set myself up for stress. Since deciding that I would not show many other wonderful paintings to instead make a point about the beautiful "forgotten fields," I have been in the studio working on bigger paintings for the show that will open on November 7th. I still need a postcard announcement image in the next week. And as if that isn't enough stress I am battling a sinus infection and the school where I teach has its big curriculum night this week. Yipes. I can't wait till the 14th of October when all is done and all I have to do is paint and bring my work to the faithful framer.
So please excuse me if I post this image done 2 weeks ago, but not posted (illegal spare).

Hey Buddette,

Your excused, I just enjoying seeing anything new that you've done and this is beautiful. My goodness, it sounds like you are loaded with work. So sorry about the sinus infection, brother I know what those are like.
Miserable, right? Take care my friend and get as much rest as you can and don't wear yourself down to a nubbin.
Your painting buddy!

You don't need an excuse!
You'll get it all done. Feel better too!

Thank you Buddy and Karen!
It's weird how I feel like I NEED to post everyday. (I guess it's the last lingering remains of my catholic upbringing (discarded I might add.. the catholic part...but I guess everything just sticks.) I am still strong on commitment. I think I will go take some Nyquil an go to bed;-] Nighty Night

Sounds like you have a lot on your plate. The main thing is to take care of yourself. Somehow the rest falls into place. Maybe it's the catholic upbringing that
kicks in knowing there's a sliver of it left inside!

Ah... Nyquil... I hope it helped Loriann. I find it impossible to paint at all when I don't feel well so I really admire your drive to keep moving forward.

I hope to see you Sunday if you're feeling better.

Loriann, you are a busy lady! the painting is beautiful... i particularly like that purple haze and it's effective connection to the rest of the field. r.

Well, Loriann get ready for jail because I heard that the daily pastel painting police are headed your way. But seriously, I relate so much right because I have been getting ready for our big event here Sierra Art Trails Artists Open House Studio event this weekend and we were away for two days to boot. Not enough hours in the day. We can't let ourselves and our health and other committments suffer. I was doing just that, I felt pressured every minute of the day, my husband wasn,t talking to me and if he did I was grouchy and curt to him. Our dog Sunny even felt it. For me , I'll see how I feel after Art Trails is over if I want to continue my daily painting. I don't honestly know at this point.
Thank you, You've helped me sort this out....and once again, your work is beautiful.

Hi Marianne, my Skagit Valley painting buddy,
I guess you never can really take that upbringing out of us, can you? Sometimes I like to keep my mind on the goal up ahead, it helps. Right now the goal is making tomorrow:-)

Hi Donna, So you like Nyquil too? I look forward to finally meeting you on Sunday. I am planning on attending, if all goes well.It just so happens I will have lots of relatives in town visiting (from California and Chicago) Time is hard to come by....but I always carve out painting time. It's sanity. Busy...who me?

Hi Rahina,
Thanks for your comment. I will go check out your recent work now:-)

Hi Anita!
Sounds like we are on the same page..a very worn out one. I do know what you mean about the commitment to posting a painting every day. That is different than painting every day (which can be on the same painting for months.) Having something to post is quite a high bar and I often wonder if it helps or hinders. I guess we will both know when it is time to move to a new challenge. Cheers! Loriann
