kick-start your brain

4x6 pastel on somerset
I have learned that mornings when I immediately go outside and paint(even when the results are less than good) I am more energized and my "responding" brain gets kick-started. It makes for a more productive studio day. Try it sometime and let me know if it works for you.

I'd say I agree. Even if I spend the rest of my day day not in the studio, I still feel more "alive".

Obviously, your time was not wasted. This little kick-start is a gem! I'd like to try the same, but no way the dog will allow anything other than immediately heading up the mountain. This morning we saw the biggest buck (12-point) I've ever seen. Gorgeous big handsome guy. Unfortunately with a snarl of black nylon strap with D-rings caught on one antler. A dog leash perhaps? I'd say the buck won.

Hi Nika..toast to you!

Hi Sam, Yes, I can see how a pup would not allow dallying with art. Just taking in the color and being part of the land for a time can be just a helpful. Cool, about the buck.

this just might happen.. i see a possibility....to just step out on the balcony. not being a "morning person" this is a big crack in an otherwise closed door! waking up alive is not the problem, but in feeling a daily curious connection to my painting process- this is a bit weak at the moment. thanks for the support! and your gem is lovely.
