crossroads

6x9 pastel and watercolor on Uart
I guess this is as literal as it is symbolic. It is a plein air painting of the crossroads near Lake Needwood. As I drove (yes drove!) home after painting I pondered. Why did I drive all the way to Lake Needwood, yet not paint it? Instead what excited me was the light stretching across a crossroads. I couldn't help but think it was more symbolic. I will think about it and make my thoughts more concise for tomorrow's post.

Morning. B,
Ah, love these last two posts. You're back with you're old friend ... fresh air, clean light and a friendly landscape greeting you softly. I'm thrilled for you!

Hi Loriann,
Once again a wonderful painting-you may consider these to be studies but to me they are 'complete" just as they are. I have noticed that your cool colors have a warmth to them.I like those gestural marks indicating the trees. The light on the path & the path going back into space -nicely done. One wonders what lies beyond the bend in the road.

Hooray! You are outside painting! You are outside driving! Hooray! Just goes to show you that you never know what will catch your attention and cry out to be expressed by an attentive artist. Happy day! And now, a nap.

At the crossroads and walking on air? I see a lot of lightness and enthusiasm in the strokes and I love the skipping in the background trees. Joyous!
